INTRODUCTION:

Starting off as a small group working on a team project at university, we began working on our final major project. During this process, we were all excited to collaborate on a long-lasting project together. To efficiently work together we wanted to identify our combined expertise and experiences. The team's capabilities are vast and well-developed, consisting of a concept/ texture artist of 3 years, a project manager/technical programmer with 5 years of games industry experience, a detailed story writer and a sound design expert.

The level of effort and passion for the project began growing beyond the scope of just an assignment. As a group, we all loved the idea of designing something we were proud of and could be released to the public. As a result, Serious Point Games was founded.

After setting up the infrastructure for our team and newly founded studio, we began the pre-production phase for ‘The Ski Lodge Murder’.

SO WHAT IS THE SKI LODGE MURDER ALL ABOUT?

We knew early on that we wanted the project to be a detective mystery game, this concept was put forwards amongst the team and was inspired by the popular detective film ‘Knives Out’.

Stemming from this initial inspiration, we chose to set the premise of the game's narrative around a detective who goes on a peaceful vacation to a snowy mountain scene, only to then be faced with a sudden murder. The narrative would consist of a small group of guests, all with in-depth detailed personalities and backstories. The player would be tasked to engage in conversation with each guest accumulating information about the murder and solving who is the guilty party, meanwhile encountering puzzles and clues to assist their investigation.

The SPG team are very excited to showcase The Ski Lodge Murders over the foreseeable future.
